I was told quite some years ago that I also had Fibromyalgia as I was in so much pain and although some of it was diagnosed as Myofascial they felt I had too much pain in other areas of my body to be purely from previous surgeries.
When they told me I must admit I was relieved as I seemed to have pains all over my body. Well, that was 9 years ago and since then I have seen different consultants and pain specialists and attended numerous pain clinics and management courses but could still not get down to the bottom of my Fibromyaliga. It seems to come and go with the seasons and temperatures. But in between times because of the amount of painkillers I am on, it doesn't seem to bother me as much.
When I was first diagnosed I do remember it not being accepted with some doctors as a "proper illness" and it had left a stigma for people in chronic pain, so much so that I hardly told anybody I had it in case they thought it was all in my head !!!! Well, times have changed now and over the last week I have been in a lot of pain and realised it must be the seasons changing and had a look at a couple of websites to update me a bit and I cannot believe the difference. There is so much more out there now and one of the best websites I found was www.ukfibromyalgia.com
So, for all you Fibro sufferers who hate the change of seasons like me, take care and browse the internet for some help or support because there is loads and loads of it. Finding the right pain relief and being able to control your pain is the key and that takes years of trying different drugs and treatments but it can be done as I am proof of it.

You make so many "classical" comments about your disease and the way it is perceived!
Because fibromyalgia has no biological marker it is a probability diagnosis on signs and symptoms.
